89 NOK per adult one way, and 45 NOK per child — half the adult fare, rounded up to the nearest krone. Both figures come from the Rogaland express-boat fare table published by Kolumbus for 2026.
Booking is not compulsory but it is possible, and it closes thirty minutes before departure from the start of the route. With a booked ticket, be at the gangway at least ten minutes before boarding: after that you rank alongside travellers without a ticket.
Kolumbus's booking engine offers no vehicle category on this connection, only passengers and bicycles. And its list of Rogaland car ferries names only three: Lysefjord, Ryfylke and Utsira. To reach Kvitsøy by car, check with Kolumbus before you set off.
On the Kvitsøy side, an island municipality devoted to fishing and island life, with its lighthouse. On the Mekjarvik side, Randaberg and Stavanger are just a few minutes' drive away.
